  My family has always dealt with just one funeral home though out the years and I have always been quite satisfied with their services. But, recently, I have had firsthand experience with Myers-Buhrig Funeral home and I was so completely amazed at the way a dear friend's situation was handled. In her case, regarding the sudden and unexpected death of her mother. There was not only extreme emotional distress, but also some very challenging physical aspects, at the scene of this sad event.
  My friend called me shortly after she had discovered her mother and she was understandably in a state of confusion and shock. I live about 25 minutes away and got there as quickly as I could. By the time that I had arrived, Bob from Myers-Buhrig was with her. He was quietly explaining her options to her and I could see that she was beginning to relax, as she realized that he was going to take over and handle every detail from that point on. And that is exactly what he did. He and his assistant Dan proceeded to care for her mother and the details regarding her home. In every step of this process, he explained, beforehand, what he and Dan would be doing and what she would see. There was some extensive clean-up and Bob and Dan worked to make sure that when my friend re-entered her mother's home, she would see nothing but the beautifully well-cared home that her mother had always kept. Bob actually commented on what an immaculate housekeeper she was, which truly touched my friend's heart. He then told her what to expect regarding her mother and how she would look when they removed her from her home. When we walked in, everything looked perfect and her mother looked lovely. I could tell how relieved my friend was not to have to face the same situation in which she had found her mother. I had no idea that a funeral director would, or even could, go to these lengths to help someone in such deep emotional trauma. I could not have been more impressed. I truly feel that he could not have done more.
  
  In closing, I also would like to mention that the visitation at the funeral home was quite beautiful and elegant. Something that I noticed there, that I have never seen before, is that this funeral home also had a little café that offered free hot and cold drinks to the visitors. What an excellent service! I cannot not say enough about how beautifully everything was handled and what a caring and compassionate man Bob is. I feel he and his assistant went way above and beyond what would normally be expected from someone in their profession. My friend is planning to discuss future arrangements for her and her husband with them.

  Bob Buhrig and his team are the most genuinely caring people I have ever been associated with. We lost our son and from the very first contact with Bob we knew that he was in the best care possible. He cried with us. He laughed with us. We knew he was more than a funeral director. He became a good friend. From a short meeting he was able to understand our pain and sorrow and more importantly knew the type of Celebration of Life we wanted for our son. Everything he and his team did for us was exceptional. He met our specific requests to the finest detail. The Celebration of Life for our son Matt was beautiful and heart warming and a wonderful tribute to our son. I'll never forget the genuine care and love he showed while caring for Matt.   Myers-Buhrig Funeral Home went above and beyond to comfort my family during an extremely difficult unexpected death in my family. Mr. Bob Buhrig is one of the most compassionate people I have ever had the honor of meeting. Thank you for everything!

  The whole team at Myers-Buhrig is fantastic. Liz and Bob (with support of Missy) led a seamless funeral for my father. In a most difficult time, Bob helped us make decisions that made the whole family feel healed. We were never hurried through the planning process, pricing was made clear and transparent, and the celebration of life was absolutely beautiful. They continue with their support afterward too. Truly a caring and supportive group who understands the depth of their role in the grieving process.

  I cannot say enough good things about Bob Buhrig and his staff. We used their services two years ago for my father and then I recently used Myers-Buhrig again last month for my mother's funeral services. Both times their services were excellent from the first moment of contact until well after all was done. Both my mother and I are planners, organizers ... and over-thinkers, but no matter what the question or concern, Bob and his staff were always one step ahead of us. Everyone is extremely caring, professional and ever patient. I don't know how they do it! The funeral home has been renovated from top to bottom recently, and is simply elegant. Everything is thought of with an excellent lay-out for good visitor flow, tasteful bathrooms, a small "café," with a stocked fridge and hot beverage service, a great sound system and the latest technology. Some of our overseas relatives were able to video conference live into the service; we could even talk to them! Both times, within a day or so, they created an amazing portrait edited from pictures we provided. Both times, we had a wake at the café right next door. The food was excellent and they accommodated all of our special requests. We had a number of special requests surrounding the entire service and burial and they accommodated everything without ever making us feel as if we were imposing. Bob is so kind and caring, I feel like I did not only have a great funeral director but also gained a lifelong friend.
